

INTEREST GROUP FOR LIBRARIES AND UNIONS
BYLAWS
ARTICLE I: Name
The name of this Interest Group shall be Interest Group for Libraries and Unions or IGLU
ARTICLE II: Goal/Purpose
IGLU aims to offer and promote discussion and information about library unions in Washington.
ARTICLE III: Membership
All Washington Library Association members – librarians, support staff, administrators and trustees – are welcome to join and participate.
ARTICLE IV: Officers
The officers of IGLU shall be a Chair, a Vice-Chair and a Secretary who shall comprise a Steering Committee. The Chair shall be the designated signature authority for IGLU but may designate a Treasurer, with signature authority, as needed. Terms of office shall be one year. Officers may be reelected. The Chair may appoint committees as needed.
ARTICLE V: Meetings
The annual business meeting shall be held at the annual conference of the Washington Library Association. A quorum shall consist of IGLU members present. The Chair may call for other meetings, particularly of the Steering Committee, as needed.
ARTICLE VI: Elections
Elections shall be held at the annual business meeting. All IGLU members present are eligible to vote. A simple majority of members voting shall be sufficient to elect officers.
ARTICLE VII: Officer Vacancies
In the event of a vacancy in the Chair position, the Vice-Chair shall complete the term as Chair. The Chair may fill any other vacancies. Terms of office for all appointments shall last until the next annual business meeting/election.
ARTICLE VIII: Bylaws Amendments
The bylaws of IGLU may be amended by a majority vote of IGLU members through a mail ballot, electronic mail ballot, or at the annual business meeting.
